Charles has over twenty four years experience as a development practitioner and a businessman. A blend of experience that is unique and accounts for the successful DSC story. Charles started his career as an Evaluation Specialist with TechnoServe Inc and rose in 8 years to become the Ghana Country Program Manager. Before establishing DSC, Charles helped to set up the West Africa Trade Hub of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Accra-Ghana, the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) of the Rivers State in Nigeria, and the Newmont External Affairs Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (NEAMU) for Newmont Ghana. His core competence is in projects development and management, quality assurance, negotiating deals, establishing strategic linkages, mentoring SMEs, and credit delivery, establishing systems, monitoring and evaluation. Charles has work experience in all 15 ECOWAS countries and additional seven (7) countries in East and Southern Africa. He also has business linkages with companies in Africa, Europe, Asia and the USA.

Edem Dzidzienyo - HPI Project Manager Edem Dzidzienyo is Project Coordinator at Development Solutions Centre (DSC). His core functions cover the implementation, monitoring and reporting on all HPI projects in the Volta Region. In addition, he is the lead trainer for (31) thirty–one project groups under the DSC – HPI project partnership. His areas of training include; group formation and development, group dynamics, record keeping, gender sensitization, public health education on HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, small ruminant production, duck production, and agroforestry development. Edem Dzidzienyo worked for four years as a professional teacher, with a special interest in teaching Agricultural Science. He taught in two schools within the four year period, which were all based in the Volta Region of Ghana. With his unending interest in Agriculture, he developed a special interest in apiary management. Mr. Dzidzienyo also worked on a number of research programs. Notable among them were; “Girls in Mining,”a commissioned research by the International Labour Organization (ILO), “Problems of rapidly urbanizing cities,” a comparative study of three cities, Accra, Singapore and Mexico, with Professor Kai N Lee – Williams College – USA, and “Teacher Education Study,” a commissioned research for (Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition). Mr. Dzidzienyo has strong data processing and analytical abilities, and the intelligence to analyze data for systematic and objective reporting. These qualities have blended well with his oral and written communication skills. He has a gentle outlook that translates into pleasant interpersonal skills, making working with him enjoyable. In work functions, he exhibits an unflinching commitment to quality and deadlines. Mr. Dzidzienyo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Masters of Philosophy in Sociology from the University of Ghana, as well as a Group Diploma in business Studies by Distant Education from the United Kingdom. These are in addition to short-tailored courses on development issues, organized by the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on the topic “making services work for the Poor,” a World Bank sponsored program.
